Rob Nield
With experience in almost every musical setting, Rob Nield has an appreciation of exactly what is required to make any show a success.
From aged 8, songwriting, guitars and rock bands were the focus. Moving onto brass bands and orchestras during the teens offered the opportunity to learn all brass instruments finally settling on Bass Trombone. It was whilst working in these large ensemble settings that a fascination with orchestration began. “I’d spend my entire summer holidays scoring new pieces for brass bands - even making my own manuscript paper!”
Working as a musician (as a bass player) onboard the cruise ships highlighted the best (and worst) practices regarding the sheet music used by the guest entertainers. A cabaret artist and the house band can have very limited rehearsal time and so it’s of paramount importance that the charts are clear and easy to read.
More recently, Rob has been exploring the world of cymatics. The effects of frequency on matter.
